We are currently recruiting an Electrical Engineer/Technologist for our Burnaby office in BC, Canada. Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers and technicians to design, develop, and implement renewable energy systems.
  • Provide guidance and support to teams worldwide in the production of electrical drawings, hardware, site installations, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in the selection of instruments and control systems to optimize system performance and reliability.
  • Support the building of equipment within the Burnaby facility by maintaining an electrical parts inventory, leading the electrical phase of the production, and performing point to point checks and factory acceptance testing.
  • Maintain documentation of all equipment built, tested, and installed.
  • Assist local technicians in troubleshooting installed equipment in the field.
  • Virtually meet with and support contractors prior to and during the building of our worldwide plants to ensure compliance and accuracy of the installation.
  • Support sales efforts by reviewing project specifications and local electrical codes.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of upgrades at the Burnaby facility.
  • Occasional travel to sites for installation, startup, maintenance, and troubleshooting purposes.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Electrical Engineering/Technologist Degree or EIT
  • Past exposure to a hazardous area plant would be preferable.
  • Hands on experience with tools and test equipment.
  • History of successful troubleshooting and problem solving.

 

Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office platforms.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and instrument data sheets.
  • Good familiarity with the Canadian Electrical Code and the National Electrical Code.
  • Understanding of hazardous area codes and standards for the US and Canada would be a plus.
  • Familiarity with valves, piping, process equipment & instrumentation
  • Strong self-motivation and ability to handle multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines in a high-pressure work environment.
  • Able to collaborate and communicate well in a team environment.

    Mechanical Designer

    We are currently recruiting a Mechanical Designer for our Burnaby office in BC, Canada.     Job Responsibilities:

    • Design components, package equipment onto skids, such as piping, vessels, rotating equipment, valves and produce a full 3D layout suitable for preparing fabrication drawings.
    • Create 3D models and drawings from concept sketches for new product development.
      • Sub-base frame
      • CNC machine components
      • Piping, vessels
      • Site plans, and final customer drawings
    • Work with vendors to create product datasheets that will be used for packaging into the final 3D layout.
    • Prepare bills of materials, and structuring designs to achieve DFMA (Design for manufacturing and assembly).
    • Provide engineering support to manufacturing group during production and build cycle.
    • Identify, evaluate, and recommend process improvements that will increase productivity and decrease costs.

     Qualifications:

    • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Design.
    • 5+ years of experience in designing skid-based equipment and piping layouts.

    Skills:

    • Experience with ASME Section VIII Div. 1 Pressure Vessel Code and ASME B31.3 Piping Code is an asset.
    • Must be proficient in equipment layout and packaging using 3D product design CAD software. such as Creo (preferably) or SolidWorks.
    • Good understanding of FEA as input to frame design is an asset.
    • Knowledge of PDM packages such as EPDM or Windchill.
    • Knowledge of safety, environmental, and quality standards.
    • Desire to work in a fast-paced team environment.
    • Excellent communicator who actively contributes in meetings and shares ideas.
    • Proficient in written and spoken English.

        Process Engineer

        We are currently recruiting a Process Engineer for our Burnaby office in BC, Canada.         Job Responsibilities:

        • Assist with the preparation of Process Flow Diagrams and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (PFD and P&ID)
        • Assist the engineering team in the selection and purchasing of valves, instruments, and other process equipment
        • Participate in HAZOP studies; Preparation of Operation & Maintenance Manuals
        • Collaborate with Project Engineering and the Mechanical and Electrical Design Teams

        Education & Experience:

        • Bachelors of Applied Science in Process Engineering
        • Familiarity with valves, piping, process equipment & instrumentation
        • Exposure to a chemical plant would be preferable
        • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office
        • Strong self-motivation and ability to handle multiple responsibilities.
        • Ability to collaborate and communicate well in a team environment

        Skills:

        • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office platforms.
        • Ability to read P&IDs and PFDs
        • Ability to read and interpret Pipe Specifications
        • Strong written and verbal communication skills
        • Ability to meet tight deadlines in a high pressure work environment
        • Ability to work well in a team environment
